The Uncommon League

The Uncommon League is a retro trading card series dedicated to the mutants, the machines, and the anomalies that rise when civilization falls. Realm 45 (Formerly Utah) is our first discovered zone, but the signal is spreading. We create physical artifacts filled with lore and imagination. No Winning. No Losing. Just collecting and trading.

The skies in Real 45 (Formerly Utah) have turned to Smog. The roads are shattered. The Great Salt Lake is drying up, and from the cracked earth, THE DISORDER has risen.

Led by the insatiable cricket warlord GRYLL THE DEVOURER, this legion of pests and pollution has one goal: to strip the flesh from the world and leave nothing but a toxic husk.

Civilization has fallen. The military is gone. All that remains are the anomalies.

In this hour of desperation, the very land has cried out for champions! From the highest skies and the deepest mines, incredible new heroes have emerged! They are the powerful, the strange, THE UNCOMMON LEAGUE!

Led by the valiant aerial ace GULLSTRIKE, they stand as the last defense against the creeping doom!

They are the only thing standing in the way of the feast.

A note from the creator:

One day, possibly fueled by too much sugar cereal and 80s music, I had a strange idea: What if I turned state history, symbols and quirks into a retro collector’s trading card series?

I decided to lean hard into the nostalgia of my childhood—back when we drank from garden hoses and our toys had sharp edges. My mom still doesn’t know where I am until dinner time. (Shoutout to my fellow Gen X-ers; my back hurts, too.)

Instead of going to therapy, I decided to exorcise these ideas from my head. I combined my trusty graphic design skills with a modern 'hybrid workflow'—using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Firefly, and Google Gemini to create the visuals. (Don’t worry, the robots helped, but I’m still the boss, designing, tweaking, art styling (is that a word?) etc. All art was created/designed and/or generated under commercial usage rights.)

So here we are. Do you need these cards? Probably not. Will they look cooler on your desk than that stack of unpaid bills? Absolutely.
